The only real environmental problem with bottled water is the non sustainable nature of the PET plastic bottles that the water usually comes in. New organic and not toxic sources of plastics will soon remove this argument however. Amongst other sources is Hemp. In addition there are new developments in plastic recycling using for example microwaves that turn the bottles back into carbon, oil and a combustible gas.
The pro-fluoride idiots who still maintain that fluoride is “safe and effective)sic are now actively using the anti bottle argument against the use of bottle water, in Manchester, Warrington etc. They claim that tap water is best. Of course they would because they are a bunch of Labour authorities doing their masters bidding, aided by their friends in the Guardian news group who own the MEN, Warrington Guardian etc and last but not least, Unitied Utilities, well known purveyors of tap water.
The truth is that both tap water and bottled water are very similar, both can vary in taste, in levels of chemicals and occasionally even bugs. One thing is for sure however, bottled water will always be much preferable to tap water containing fluoride. Both tap water and bottled water are distrubuted by private companies therefore United Utilities are arguably acting illegally by claiming that bottle water is inferior to their own product. Bottle water is actually going to be the last line of defence for the consumer as an alternative to fluoridated tap water. At least with chlorine, it will evaporate if you let it stand or boil the water. fluoride however is only removed via expensive reverse osmosis filters and ordinary tap filters will not do the job. If you want to campaign for better water, Join with Friends of the Earth, The National Pure Water Association, The Soil Association, the UK Councils Against Fluoride, and ISIS. Say No To Fluoride and yes to pure drinking water.
